Someone has been busy...walking!

Jack is a little man on the move!  I just love watching his purposeful steps and hearing his squeals of delight as he enjoys his new freedom.  His balance seems to be pretty good but he will take off in a fast crawl if he sees something he wants to get to immediately.

Today I was reading a book on the couch and he walked out of the room.  He decided to go in his room, shut the door and lock it!  I had no idea he knew how to do that.  Suddenly, it feels like we have jumped from baby to teenager!  Please don't grow up that fast, buddy.

Here he is showing us his new skills...

He can walk while he eats a banana.

Now you are just showing off!

He even can walk outside!

I had his feet measured at a shoe store and it turns out I was shoving his feet into shoes that were a size to a size and a half too small...poor boy!  She recommended a pair of $30 shoes and I silently thought "yeah right!" but thanked her and headed to the second hand store.  Would you believe I found a pair of Adidas sneakers in his size that were very similar to the ones in the shoe store for $1.50!  I was so thankful for the savings especially since he will be out of this size in no time.  A little scrubbing and an afternoon in the sun left them looking like new!

It has been fun enjoying the beautiful weather while he practices his new skill.  We are looking forward to more sunny day walks this spring and sharing them with you.  However, I have found I need to be quick snapping his picture now!

  1. So enjoyed the pics of Jack. What a beautiful little boy~ and Seth is so blessed to have such a thrifty wife! We are so blessed. God certainly knows what He's doing, doesn't He? That's what I think every time I look at my precious, much prayed-for granddaughter. God is so good!

  2. And so life steps up a notch! It is so exciting to watch our children hit these milestones. When my David learned to walk (he was 17 months old!) my biggest relief was that he could walk outside instead of tearing up his pants and his hands crawling! Enjoy this fun stage!
