Surprise Weather

Jack has transitioned to 1 nap a day within the past few weeks.  It isn't always easy since he still gets tired sometimes towards lunch.  I try to keep him busy with interesting things but it usually doesn't last long.  Out of desperation the other day,  I pulled out my ribbon jar and let him rip all the contents out of it explore it!

I walked out of the room and returned to find this!

I saw a lump under his shirt and I couldn't figure out what it was!

Under his shirt and his undershirt, I found this...baker's twine!
I'm really not sure how he managed that one.

Boy was I glad when it was 65 degrees Thursday so we could enjoy the warm weather at the park!  It was Jack's first time and he really seemed to enjoy himself.  I stuck him in a swing and gave him a brisk push...big mistake.  Poor boy.  He really doesn't like feeling out of control and he had the same reaction to the slide.  He finally relaxed and began to show his adventurous side.
The swing death grip!

"Hey Dad, there's an empty one behind you."

"Okay, this is fun!"

"There is something else to do besides this. Right?"

"Now we are talking..."

"Hold on.  I found something really fun!"

"Rocks!"
(very exciting to a 1 year old boy!)

He likes sitting on the slide just not sliding down the slide.

Time to play with the rocks. again.

What a fun family time!

Valentine's Fun

I got to celebrate Valentine's Day with my littlest sweetheart yesterday!  We ran some errands in the morning and then had some heart-filled fun in the afternoon.

  My Little Heartbreaker!

He had lots of fun playing with these little wooden hearts.

He looked at his cards that were lovingly sent to us from family.

He had a heart shaped sandwich, apples and cheese.
I almost got a picture of the cheese but he was way to fast for me!

We listened to this music while we ate and played.
Listening to Bible verses sung is a great way to memorize God's Word. :-)

Jack got dessert which is rare. Homemade funnel cake!

I have a bit of a love affair with funnel cakes.  It has been a long time since I have enjoyed one so when I saw this recipe on one of my favorite healthy recipe blogs I knew I had to try it!  It was sooo good!  Jack got to have his with some maple syrup but the adults enjoyed theirs with powdered sugar (hey, it's Valentine's Day!).

He wasn't quite sure how to attack it at first...

It didn't take him long to figure it out though!

How did you celebrate Valentine's Day?

Another Year Down

I celebrated my birthday on Monday with my guys.  Tasty food was consumed, presents were opened and an outing on the town was enjoyed by all. I felt very loved!  My present this year? Well, an orbital power sander of course!  I have lots of projects in the works and this little baby is going to be by my side through it all.  I am just waiting for some warmer weather first. :-)

Yesterday, I got another birthday wish...an organized laundry room!  It was on the master to-do-list but it happened a little sooner than expected due to one of the shelves collapsing on my birthday!  My very handy hubby whipped that shelf into shape and fixed some other problem areas.  My laundry room is a much more pleasant place to be now.

In other news, my sister, Kari is celebrating her birthday today.  She has joined the blogging world (finally!) and you can keep up with all of her family happenings here.  Head on over and wish her a happy b-day and congratulate her on such a cute blog name (her last name is Meaney)!

Happy Birthday Kari!

Jack can't resist the power tools!

We would like to put up another shelf to store our paper products and preparedness food/items.

This makes me happy having all of my laundry needs together in a tray!

Jack LOVES his farm animals!

He is saying "mooo"!
Apparently, all animals say moo. :-)

"Is it Friday already?"

Almost.  I realized I only posted "this moment" posts the past 3 weeks and that was it.  Sometimes blogging is like that but here are few things we have been up to.

* Jack got another tooth.  This time it was a molar and if wasn't for his excessive drooling I wouldn't have even known.  If only every tooth was like that...

* Jack took 3 steps in a row!!!  He has been walking along walls more and acting a little more confident on his feet.

* I organized my pantry.  I kept putting it off thinking that eventually I will be moving but I couldn't stand it any longer.  We have so much more space now and I love it.

* I have been learning more about couponing and waiting for the sales.  This has resulted in us getting items for free or very cheap.  I just love a good deal and I have recently found out that there are about 5 other local women who do too!  They seem to be beating me to some of the deals and clearing off the shelves by waiting outside drugstores until they open.  Are you kidding me?  Do you really need 35 tubes of toothpaste?  Ugh, a little respect would be nice, you know?

* Jack got his 1st bloody boo-boo, a cut lip. :-(  He wasn't too bothered by it and of course loved sucking on his piece of ice.

* We got 8 inches of snow in an afternoon!

So, nothing too exciting.  See you back here tomorrow!

Jack has been practicing eating with a spoon.

Jack decided to empty out the contents of my purse while I put away groceries.

That is some bed head for ya, yikes!

I might be the only person who has kid's books in her pantry!

However, he usually ends up playing with this basket.
He thinks straws are great toys!

I was finally able to catch Jack "winking" on camera!
Awww buddy!

"Wink, wink, Mom!"

It makes us laugh every time!
