Back from the Beach!

OBX 2010

We have been on vacation at the Outer Banks, NC.  It was a wonderful vacation full of sun, sand and surf!  I could have stayed longer (like permanently!) but it is nice to be home!  I am just catching up on all the post vacation chores and errands but I wanted to share a few photos of the pool today.

Playing peek-a-boo!

Jack thought the pool was great stuff!  He floated around in his turtle and laughed and laughed!  He also had a great time splashing in the little pool in front of him.

Cousin Audree joined in the fun!

We all had a blast swimming and playing games in the pool!

More to come later!

Washing a Country Boy

While our new floors went down last Friday, Jack and I spent the day at Seth's parent's house.  We decided to do a photo shoot with Jack.  He had a blast and we got some fun pictures out of it!

Then it was time to take a bubble bath.  He had the best time splashing, catching the bubbles and trying to eat the bubbles and sponge!  He kept Grammy on her toes!  It sure was fun though :-)

He is SO happy in the water!

New Floor!

Here is the big reason I have been absent from the blog...new wood floors in our living room!
Our landlord approached us last October to see if we wanted wood floor in our living room.  Definitely, yes!  However, the timing was off since I was due to deliver Jack in a few weeks.  Of course, our lives were a little busy once we came home from the hospital so we decided to wait until things settled down a bit.  Well, our landlord is very busy so it took a while for our schedules to match up but 9 months later it is done and we love it!

I was slightly overwhelmed at the thought of getting all of our furniture, books, decorations, etc. out of the living room. Plus, having to be out of our house for most of the day.  I should have known that with my wonderful husband's help (and muscles!) it would be done in no time!  I also have the added benefit of a clean room from top to bottom. :-)

Once we find an area rug to warm up the space, I think this will be a great room.  God knew we needed a little encouragement since the hunt for a bigger place has been hard.  His timing is always best and we can rest assured that He has the perfect place for our family.

Jack approves!

He especially likes the loud noise it makes when he bangs his toys on it!

9 Months!

9 months!
We have to be creative with the star placement!

Distracted (It happens often!) See...

"Hold on Mom.  I have to check something out!"

"I will be right back!"

"Oh, it's just a fence post. Carry on Mom!"

He thinks he is so sneaky.
I spend half of my time getting handfuls of grass out of his mouth!

It is worth it though when I get a good shot of him.  I am in LOVE with this picture!

I can't believe our little guy is 9 months already.  In the beginning, time can seem so slow but now it is really picking up speed.  I am trying to heed every one's advice and enjoy it while it lasts because in 3 more months we move on to years not months. *sigh*

In the last post, I said he got 2 more teeth and he is definitely working on the other 2.  So far, these have been the hardest teeth on him.  Poor baby.

He is "talking" more but still no definite words.  He says "ddddd" so I am sure da da da is not far from now.  He also whispers sometimes which is so cute but a little scary.  I find he does it when we are shopping and he sits there staring at me.  That's when I realize I am talking to myself about the next thing on my list!

Well, that is all for now.  I have more posts that have been building up. Most days I have every intention of writing a post during nap time but I usually end up doing something a bit more pressing!  Thanks for your patience!

8 Year Anniversary

Tygert Lake 2007

Today we celebrate 8 years of marriage.  Our lives together have been so blessed and each year keeps getting better!  I am so thankful that the Lord brought us together. May there be many more years to share.  I love you Seth!

Over the weekend, we went on our early anniversary date.  Graciously, Seth's Mom came and stayed with Jack while we went out. Thanks again Mom!  We ate at a local authentic Mexican restaurant that was very delicious.  After dinner, we had a rousing game of putt-putt!  I'm afraid my athletic ability was not up to par (excuse the pun!) but we sure did enjoy ourselves!

Seth got a hole in one!  Me...not so much!

I was too busy trying to take pictures in the fading light!

After Seth successfully beat me I needed ice cream!  :-)  We ended up at Bruster's where a brownie sundae was calling out to me.  Little did I know that the thing was HUGE!  A couple ordered after us and the woman said to me "Is that a brownie sundae?  Okay we will take one of those to share!"  Oh well hopefully Seth's Dad got some enjoyment out of the half finished bowl!  We even managed to check out some car lots as we dream about a bigger vehicle.  The Corolla is getting a bit snug!  What a perfectly fun evening!

In baby news, Jack got 2 more teeth!  He has been drooling up a storm and some of his sleeping has been a bit wacky.  I'm not sure if the bottom 2 are on their way but,  I'm really hoping to have the teething out of the way before our vacation in a few weeks.

He he started to stick out his tongue in what I can only assume is a coping measure!

He also has been staying busy getting into things!  One day, he was very intent on getting into this basket.  He also likes to pull at the basket's weave which I am not so happy about, ahem.

So nosy!

This bottle with dried beans inside has become a new fun (and noisy) toy!
