Busy boy

Jack really likes to move!  He can roll from his stomach and his back now.  His movement sometimes leads to finding him in some sort of predicament.  So, the other morning he was playing happily until he got himself stuck!  I can only imagine my days once he starts to crawl :-)

He thought it was pretty funny!

I decided he should practice sitting on his own some more.  However, since he thinks he needs to reach for everything and anything within his reach he doesn't stay upright very long!

Practice makes progress!

Sleeping like a baby

The other day I got Jack ready for bed a little earlier than usual due to an early rising from his afternoon nap.  I laid him here for about 5 minutes while I finished some things up in the kitchen.  I started to realize he was too quiet so I went to check on him and found this...a sweet sleeping baby!

Oh, how we missed you!

What did we miss?  Homemade whole wheat bread!  It has been about a year since I have made bread and I thought it was time to get back into the swing of things. =)

Back when we were not sure why I wasn't getting pregnant, I started researching health and food. We made some good changes and then a lady from my church introduced me to grinding grain.  I was convinced it was very healthy for us and in Nov. 2006 I bought a grain mill.  I haven't bought a bag of flour in over 3 years!  I have experimented with all kinds of grain and wheat, spelt and kamut are our favorites.  Anything that calls for flour I use one of these grains to make it.  We usually get very yummy results but there have been a few disappointments! I look forward to trying out some more recipes this year...maybe tortillas :)

Fresh ground flour

I decided to celebrate ending my bread making hiatus by making one of the loaves a cinnamon/sucanat swirl bread.  Mmmm :-)  It is very delicious and I know the perfect person who would love a loaf (I will try to bring one, Dad!).

Breakfast

Lastly, what's a post without pictures of the baby?!  He was drooling over our breakfast...

      "Just one bite, please!"

and this is what happens after you spit up on yourself for the 3rd time!  I'm off to do laundry!

5 Months!

Wow! It has been a long time since my last post due to sickness. I think I am finally all better so I can start to catch up.

As of today, Jack is 5 months old!  He is a whopping 16 pounds and 27 inches long! I keep getting comments on how big he is, even from complete strangers =)  His latest fun find are his feet! He loves to put everything in his mouth and his feet are no exception!

Such a funny, flexible baby!

Little Buddy

It was Seth's birthday on Sunday. So, on Saturday we celebrated with his parents and took a day trip. He decided the NRA Museum was the place to go (where else!) and we had lots of fun.  Jack squealed with delight at each new gun display!  Of course, this made his Dad very proud =)
